I've been updating the Visit Llandrindod Wells page of my site today. Llandrindod has got a lot going for it and I went for a walk around Rock Park to take some new photos. I know many people that come to me for courses never get as far as the Lake or Rock Park, which is a shame as they are real features of the town and well worth a visit. When I got back from taking the pics I remembered I also wanted a photo of the Goddess Hygeia, who features on the town's welcome signs. She's a Goddess of healing, the daughter of Asclepius, whose snake entwined staff is used as a familiar medical symbol to this day. Hygeia is a very appropriate emblem for a town built around its healing waters and I feel we should take more pride in our healing heritage here in Llandrindod and treat our Goddess with the respect she deserves. |
