Reviews of Light Behind the Angels

Light Behind the Angels by Lauren D'Silva is more than a spiritual read, it details an in-depth process of coming into our full glory as human souls while still encased in bodies.
Lauren D'Silva shares her own mystical and practical journey on the path to enlightenment step-by-step in great detail, and in a manner that lets readers feel they are right there witnessing each transition and transformation.
Besides following the journey many key aspects of mystical practices are revealed that would take maybe 10 books to otherwise learn about.
Ms. D'Silva doesn't hold back on revealing all the beautiful insight she experiences, right along with stories of when events didn't go as hoped or expected. And that is real life, not a fairytale of events, but instead the highs and lows of forward and backward movement toward the ultimate goal.
You'll learn about the topography of this part of Great Britain and this really puts you in the place where the author lived. You can see the towns and landscapes, both. I find that is so important in understanding the characters in the book. The rich detail paid to describing places in time also carries readers right to those moments. Also of note is the writing style which flows smoothly and keeps the reader engaged.
As we are all connected in the human family you may feel very familiar with the turn of events as they occur, I know I did. Reading this book is more than one person's journey, it brings us to what we are all meant to find out about ourselves as human beings on planet earth, and as souls of the larger universal family.
This is a must-read for all New Age travelers!
Up front I admit to a biased view and a spot of nepotism here, as this book is written by my good friend Lauren D’Silva. What’s more I actually appear in it as myself! But I wouldn’t be a friend if I didn’t celebrate and promote this important achievement for her so here we go.
Lauren is an established and experienced crystal healer and teacher but this book focuses on the fascinating exploration of her own past lives and their impact on her current life. When she meets a new boyfriend Steve, an ancient curse is triggered and Lauren has to make a choice – try to unravel the tangled threads and find forgiveness or remain bound by long-past mistakes.
This is a fascinating read just for the story alone, and women everywhere will be able to relate to Lauren’s desire to find love and fulfillment with an equal partner. She is also wonderfully down to earth, with a healthy scepticism running alongside her open-ness to spirit and the multi-dimensional universe. If you ever wondered whether there was more to life than meets the eye and felt there must be something else “out there”, this book should go a long way to convincing you!
What is important is that through sharing her story Lauren shows us very clearly the immortality of the soul, how painful experiences can affect that soul if they remain in the unconscious, and how transformative it is to shine the light of consciousness into those dark areas. It takes courage to recognise and accept that you have done and said things you are ashamed of or had them done to you, but in doing so you validate your soul lessons and journey and take your power back.
That is exactly what Lauren does and what she encourages us all to do in her book. We have all suffered and caused suffering, been unhappy and created unhappiness for others but in every moment we have the choice to be who we truly are and not get fooled into thinking we are merely the sum of our experience. This book will open your eyes to the eternal nature of your soul, alert you to the possibilities for healing and most of all remind you that throughout every lifetime and in between you are greater and more powerful than you know.
I love the style this book is written in. Lots of short chapters which makes it feel like you are reading someone's journal. Given that it's purported to be a true story you might well be. It has a very down to earth feel and the author starts off being obviously sceptical herself about all the hoopy happenings, however by the end she has embraced her new found knowledge. As Crystal said above, it has it all, intrigue, heartache, romance etc etc and you really do want to find out which path Lauren will take.
There were also little snippets that resonated and made me feel more comfortable about things that happen to me personally on my own spiritual journey and I thank the author for being so candid in places where it must have been difficult to be so.
All in all a wonderful read and one I would heartily recommend.

Wonderful book, By
Mystic M A fantastic personal journey! And written by one very courageous lady. It is a blessing that she has chosen to share her experiences with the world in this book. By sharing what she has been through, she is going to help many people with their journeys. Thank you Lauren.
From the moment I got this book i could not put it down, I felt I was with the Authoress every step of her journey, each chapter was an insight into lives and worlds we believe exist but have been scared to look. Its is written in such a down to earth manner, I was captivated right from the first chapter, willing her on, wondering how she would handle the tasks put before her. It has shown me that the paths we choose are not always easy and that there is a path that can show us our true selves, but we have to be brave, very brave in this case.
Uplifting and inspiring, and filled me with a confidence about the little things that keep on nudging me along my path. Just hope I can be as brave and true as Lauren D'Silva.

Light Behind The Angels, By

A beautifully written, moving & funny account of one inspirational woman's search for her life purpose. Once started, impossible to put down! Thank you for sharing this with us Lauren ... Blessed Be my friend.
This spiritual journey is more exciting, with more dramatic twists and turns, than most novels I have read lately! That is partly because Ms. D'Silva is an excellent writer, and can really bring alive esoteric material and deeply-felt insights that in another's hands might be too abstract to connect to readers. This book mostly tells the tale of her relationship with her partner Steve, and the clearing away of karmic burdens and blights that they have had to go through in order to reach their full love and power. Ms. D'Silva is an energy healer, counselor, and New Age writer, and Steve is a wiccan High Priest, so they utilize a number of different mediums for their work - shamanic journeying, astral travel, past-life regression, channeling, crystal healing, soul-retrieval, dreaming, magick, and more. Many of the techniques are detailed in the book, which in and of itself is fascinating.
Ms. D'Silva is also very honest about her own emotions, mistakes she has made, and her own doubts and fears along the way. Although this book discusses past lives in detail, and much of the work revolves around clearing energies generated by those lives, she is also down to earth in her overall view of the value of this, wisely stating in the epilogue that "It would be a mistake to think that past lives are a way to escape from the mundane world and find a more diverting version of yourself. You need to look for the patterns, learn the lessons, heal the wounds and bring the knowledge into your life now." I think almost anyone interested in these topics will appreciate this book.
