Frequently Asked Questions
How
long is the course?
The TSCT Diploma in Crystal Therapy is taught part time over
two years.
There are six taught weekends in the first year and six more in the
second year. Alternatively there is an option of studying this course on
an Intensive basis attending two five day study weeks per year.
Over the first year we cover the agreed ACHO core curriculum.
On successful completion of the course components, you will be awarded a TSCT Certificate in Crystal
Therapy enabling you to work as a qualified Crystal Therapist. The second year
covers more advanced topics and successful completion leads to an award of the TSCT Diploma in
Crystal Therapy.
What happens if I can’t make a teaching
weekend?
If for an unavoidable reason a weekend is missed you are
welcome to join the following group when they cover it. This will not cost you
any extra. Alternatively you may pay for my time on a one to one basis to catch up in Llandrindod Wells. You will still need to pay for the weekend missed at the time; posting
a cheque is acceptable. The award of TSCT Certificate and/or TSCT Diploma
cannot be made until all parts of the course have been attended and paid for.
Where are the courses held?
The venue for the weekend courses is the Miracles Room at the Glastonbury
Experience Courtyard, Glastonbury. Intensives and one to one tuition are available in the Victorian Spa Town of Llandrindod Wells in Mid-Wales.
How
much does each weekend cost?
Tuition fees are £140
per taught weekend in Glastonbury unless the
student chooses to pay for a whole year’s tuition up front, when the overall cost
is £750. Students who opt to pay per weekend are obliged to sign a Pay-As-You-Go
agreement as the entire course fees for the year are payable whether a student
attends or not. Intensive Course fees are £400 per week learning in a group, or £600 per week on a one to one basis. The £50 booking deposit holds your place and is deducted from the final weekend or final week of the first year course.
How
much homework is there?
In the first year of the course you are required to complete
six homework modules, plus modules on Health and Safety and Customer Care.
These are designed to check your level of knowledge and understanding and they cover
the core curriculum requirements of ACHO.
You will be keeping a Personal Development Journal
throughout your course and will need to provide photocopied excerpts as
evidence.
You are required to produce evidence that you have been
practising your skills in the form of written case studies. You will complete
treatments for five different people at least three times each for the
Certificate and the same number again for the Diploma. You are strongly
encouraged to obtain student insurance when you start your case studies.
In the second year you will explore an aspect of Crystal
Therapy of your choice and present your findings in the form of a thesis. This
is shorter and more flexible than an academic thesis and may be taped or
videotaped rather than written as appropriate. You will also have homework booklets
based on the areas of learning covered over the six weekends and will present
your diary extracts as before and your additional case studies.
Do
I need prior knowledge of crystals or healing?
No, the course starts with
the basics and builds up from there. No prior knowledge is expected, however
any knowledge of crystals that you do have will be useful to you. All I expect
is a genuine desire to help people through healing, an interest in the crystals
and a willingness to learn.
Do
I need prior knowledge of Anatomy & Physiology?
You will need to provide evidence of Anatomy and Physiology (A & P). Medically qualified students, those with
‘O’ level, GCSE or ‘A’ level Human Biology and those who have already
studied an A & P course and can provide evidence will not need to pursue
further study. If you have not fulfilled the A&P requirements then
you have a choice of enrolling on any A & P course set to at least a Level
Two, or completing A&P through a home study course. You do not need to have completed this until you are ready to present all of your coursework for your TSCT Certificate.
